Today, Festspillene i Nord-Norge released this year's festival programme. Three of Dáiddadállu's artists can be found on the programme, and first we take a look at Dáiddadállu's founder and artist partner Elle Sofe Sara with her new performance Vástádus eana – The answer is land.

Festspillene i Nord Norge writes this about this year's festival profile:

"Elle Sofe's approach and choreographic language make her one of the most interesting choreographers of her generation. She manages to portray hyperlocal themes in a way that is experienced universally.”

Man's relationship with nature

Sara's performance is also this year's opening performance, which takes the audience on a dance joik walk in Harstad. Vástádus eana- The answer is land is a performance that, through dance and joik, reflects on the power of standing together and the awareness of the earth we all stand on and share.

- My wish with the performance is to give the audience the bodily experience of being together in movement and joicing and feeling like part of something bigger, says artistic director and choreographer Elle Sofe Sara.

The 7 female performers on stage are renowned dancers, joikers and singers. The musical expression in the performance is polyphonic joik composed by Frode Fjellheim.

- It's probably a good idea to secure tickets early, as there aren't that many tickets being released in this corona time, says Sara.

Premiere: Saturday 19.06 at 15:00
