Artists and Works
ANJA SAIVO BJØRNSTAD AND ANITA SUIKKARI:
BOAZU JA FÁPMU
"Reindeer and Power" is a political satirical guerrilla theater that mocks Norwegian reindeer husbandry policy by rewriting and performing "The Reindeer Husbandry Act Chapter 1, Paragraph 1, The Purpose of the Law" as "The Reindeer Husbandry Law Adjusted by the Law of the Pig." The stunt's purpose is to expose the connection between the Norwegian state's forced reduction of the reindeer population in Finnmark and the State's preferred, exploitative land policy.

HILDE SKANCKE PEDERSEN:
RED
In this work, Skancke Pedersen wants to show the survival power of all life in such a harsh region as the one we live in. She works with the strength and vulnerability of nature, and thus also of humans.
DREAM
In the work "Dream," Skancke Pedersen reflects the complex, beautiful, and vulnerable nature, with the sun as a source of life. To develop a desire among people to protect nature, we must also see, experience, and try to understand it.
EANA – LAND
Still from the art video Eana – Land. In the film, Skancke Pedersen wants to convey the view of humans as nature, not just as a user or observer of nature. As part of nature, we have a duty to protect it, not exploit it as we do now.

MÁRET ÁNNE SARA
PRESSURE COOKER
The idea behind the images is to re-contextualize Sara's three-dimensional works in a new two-dimensional format. Her works often carry a serious weight, so this series is deliberately done with a good dose of play and fun. The original work is a sculpture made of wood and reindeer hooves.
MADNESS
The scream is part of the exhibition "Oaivemozit/Galskap/Madness" from 2013, where the theme is the Arctic investment and the industrial devastation of our vulnerable natural resources and livelihoods. Who is the mad one, Sara wonders. Me? Those who so desperately scream about grave and irreversible consequences? Or those who refuse to listen to such serious matters?
STATE ON STEROIDS 2023
"State on Steroids 2023" is a cynical look at the new industrial madness of the "green shift," where the main act currently takes place on Fosen with an illegal state wind industry park that has devastated the basis for Sámi reindeer herding, and which costs this country both human rights respect and principles of the rule of law on a daily basis.

SUSANNE HÆTTA
UNTITLED 1
This image belongs to the project Blood Conversations, which uses blood as a medium to address themes such as kinship, religion, and sexuality, but also fertility and nourishment. In this work, the artist is reflected in the oxygen bubbles in the figure, which is photographed during reindeer slaughter.
THE GREAT LONELINESS
"The Great Loneliness" is a standalone work. The apparent loneliness of nature is an illusion. The trees have a wide network underground, dormant in winter, vital and patient, taking care of even the smallest among them.

ANN-SOFIE KALLOK
REGENERATION
This is part of a brand new series of images that have not been shown before. Using shadows and references to the Lule Sámi duodji, it raises identity and how it, with duodji among other tools, is in constant change while also binding us together through generations.
Ann-Sofie Kallok is a duodjár/craftsman and designer, producing among other things jewelry with a modern Sámi expression. In the picture, the jewelry is highlighted by Ánna-Katri Helander, dancer and choreographer in Dáiddadállu. Photo idea: Ann-Sofie Kallok and Johan Fredriksson. Photographer: Johan Fredriksson.
